Are you in New Castle for a week and wondering what to do during your spare time here. We’ve come up with a few romantic things all couples should do:
Take in a movie at the Tyneside, in the couch seats with a bottle of wine:
The cinema is an age-old date night staple – what could make a cinema trip more romantic? Wine, that’s what, consumed at your seat which instead of being a normal cinema job is instead a sofa where you can snuggle up.
Climb Grey’s Monument:
You’d struggle to get a better view of Newcastle , and the Monument itself has always been a meeting place for lovers and even a popular site for proposals.
Stroll along the Quayside in the evening:
The circular walk from the Swing Bridge to the Millennium Bridge has everything going for it, with lovely views of the Gateshead and Newcastle Quaysides, plenty of trendy bars with views to stop off at, and best of all, the lights twinkling fetchingly on our very pretty city’s river.
Treat your date to some Michelin-starred dining at House of Tides:
Set in the magnificently restored Grade 1 listed 16th Century former merchant’s town house, House of Tides is a 60 cover restaurant which manages to offer a casual and informal space while serving up Michelin-star-quality nosh.
